How To Choose A Good Windshield Replacement Company?

By Todd Nash

Any auto glass fracture or crack that hinders the driver from driving should be looked into as soon as possible. It is crucial to choose windshield replacement Coppel firm for good service, use of quality equipments, cost-effectiveness, modern technology and warranty.

It is very common to see people die when they are thrown out of the vehicle in case of an accident. If the windshield is not strong enough to bear the weight of the car and its passengers, the situation becomes very dangerous. So, it is essential to make sure that the glass is strong, scatter proof and laminated. For a small crack, replacement is not required. But for a big one, replacement is necessary. It is very important to know what aspects to consider before choosing a service firm.

Quality of the windshield glass used by the service provider

It is essential to check the quality of the glass used by the service provider. It should stick to the standards approved by NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Association). The standard set by NHTSA is formulated such as to improve the safety of people in case of an accident. Ensure that the service provider has Original Manufacture Equipment (OEM). Windshield replacement Coppel firms fulfill the rules formulated by NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Association).

Methods of installation

It is always better to install windshields that are recommended by the manufacturer. This is to ensure that the windshields fits the frame in the correct position and is safe. If the service providers use a windshield that is different to the one used by the manufacturer, it can lead to undesirable situations

Customer testimonials

If you want to go to windshield replacement Coppel companies to get your windshield fixed, take opinion about the company from other people. You should ask for both positive and negative feedback so that you can decide upon which firm to contact. Testimonials are usually available on the websites or you can ask people directly.

Luxury cars

Choosing local firms for luxury cars is not advisable. If you want to change the windshield of particular luxury car, it is always better to choose the service center of that car brand. Since luxury cars are built in a different way and have different acoustics in the windshields to block noise from outside unlike normal cars, it is always better to leave the cars with the car brand service provider. These luxury cars also have the brand seal that makes sure that the air bags function properly during an accident. To enjoy the same facilities, make sure you get replacement at the company service provider.

Certification

Service providers that have certification may provide better facilities than those which don’t. National Gas Certification ensures that the experts are knowledgeable and trained. Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) license by NHTSA makes sure that service providers are following the standard procedures. Windshield replacement Coppel firms follow the rules and regulations put forward by Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS).

Mouse makes nest in cash machine, eats money

Sunday, April 1, 2007

In Estonia, a mouse made its nest in a cash machine and spent the weekend eating tens of thousands of kroons in bank notes. The critter was discovered after a customer making a withdrawal got half-eaten bills from the machine.

At some stage over the weekend the chewed money jammed, and the mouse seems to have spent the rest of the weekend turning the notes into bedding. It probably was attracted by the warmth from the machine and decided to make itself at home.

Experts are now investigating how the rodent was able to get into the ATM.

Polish drug company Jelfa ordered to shut-down over mislabelled drugs

Wednesday, November 8, 2006

Polish Prime Minister Jaros?aw Kaczy?ski has ordered the pharmaceutical company Jelfa to halt production following revelations that Jelfa had placed mislabelled medication on the market, whose use could be potentially fatal.

Jelfa distributed vials labelled as Corhydron, a hydrocortisone used to treat allergies and inflammation, but in fact containing Suxamethonium chloride, a drug normally used to cause muscle paralysis during emergency surgery.

The Health Ministry has appealed to people suffering from asthma or allergies to check their medication and return any Corhydron ampoules they possess to the pharmacy.

Polskie Radio reports that the mislabelling was discovered a month ago, but Jelfa and the Polish Health ministry did not inform of the problem.

Prime Minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski ordered Jelfa to halt production until it can assure the Polish Government that it can properly manage its production.

The Polish Outlook reports that that drug companies in Poland were operating unregulated since December, 2005 as the regulations has expired. The government was putting in place new regulations.

The owner of Jelfa is AB Sanitas, the largest drug producer in neighbouring Lithuania. The shut-down has been questioned by the Lithuanian Prime Minister Gediminas Kirkilas, who expressed concern over the situation and said that he wants to try to settle the issue diplomatically.

Australia Votes 2007: Liberals promise personal income tax cuts

Tuesday, October 16, 2007

With the election campaign just beginning, Australian Prime Minister John Howard has promised AU$34 billion in personal income tax cuts over the next three years. That is on top of $31.5 billion announced in May, and $36.7 billion announced in 2006.

The new tax cuts are based on new projections for growth in the Australian economy. The Treasury estimates that the economy will expand by 4.25% in the 12 months to June 2008, up from growth of 3.75% predicted in May.

The Government has challenged the Labor opposition to announce their tax policy immediately.

“The biggest, boldest tax plan that we’ve seen in a long time is presented yesterday, it deals with participation, competitiveness, building capacity in the Australian economy, and what does Kevin Rudd say? Nothing,” treasurer Peter Costello said. “He better have an answer today.”

Costello described the government tax policy as “very responsible” and said Rudd was a “Nothing Man” because he has not revealed Labor’s tax policy.

The Shadow Treasurer, Wayne Swan, replied “The only responsible course of action here is to study the detail. We’ve said we’ll put out all our policies well before the election and we’ll do that”.

“But in terms of what the Government’s put forward, we will take our time to study the detail. That’s the only responsible and reasonable thing to do.”

Economists from Access Economics, the ANZ Bank, HSBC and Macquarie Bank noted that the tax cuts will boost demand at a time when the Reserve Bank is trying to slow the economy. The Reserve Bank has been raising interest rates to keep the inflation rate within its target range. Households with substantial mortgages could end up worse off.

Rudd has said the Opposition will reveal its tax policy in its own time – mimicking John Howard’s approach when he was Opposition Leader in 1996.

Vivian Stuart

Italy, the birthplace of the mighty Roman civilisation and home to the Pope, the head of the Roman Catholic Church, is also known world wide for its cuisine (or ‘cucina’ as the Italians would say). Italian cuisine is popular all over the world because of the subtle flavours and universally likable tastes that constitute it. It has captured the imagination – and more importantly the taste buds – of people all over the world and it is impossible not to find an Italian restaurant in any of the major cities of the world.

and social events. Two function rooms are available and can cater for up to 12 guests in the Private Dining Room, and up to 60 guests in the Gallery. SpaceX scrubs Falcon I rocket launch

Monday, November 28, 2005

SpaceX called off the much-delayed inaugural launch of their new Falcon 1 rocket on Saturday from Kwajalein’s Omelek Island launch site. The intent was to launch the U.S. Air Force Academy’s FalconSat 2 satellite, which will monitor plasma interactions with the Earth’s upper atmosphere and magnetosphere.

The launch was delayed, then finally cancelled after an oxygen boil-off vent had accidentally been left open. The oxygen was unable to cool the helium pressurant, which then proceeded to evaporate faster than it could be replenished. A main computer issue, probably serious enough to cause a scrub on its own, was also discovered.

This long-anticipated flight was originally expected to be launched in January 2005, however a series of setbacks forced a series of delays, with the flight most recently scheduled to be in early 2006. It was intended to be launched from the Kwajalein atoll in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

The maiden voyage was originally intended to launch from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California with a Naval Research Laboratory satellite and a Space Services Incorporated space burial payload.

Asian stock markets slide; Nikkei at lowest level since ’82

Monday, October 27, 2008

On Monday, stock markets across Asia resumed their downward slide, and Japan’s Nikkei stock index fell to lows not seen since October 1982 as the Japanese government’s former measures to stop the credit and stock crisis have been seen by stockholders as not sufficient.

Japan’s prime minister, Taro Aso, spoke to government officials and asked them to make new tentative plans to save Japan from more damage inflicted by the worldwide recession. For the day, the Nikkei closed down 6.4 percent, or 486.18 points, to close at 7,162.90.

The U.S. dollar rose against the yen after six straight days of losses, trading at 92.27 yen to the dollar. On Friday, the trading value for the yen fell to 90.89, its worst showing for the currency since August 1995.

The Hang Seng Index in Hong Kong was in a freefall for the most of the day, ending down 12.7 percent, or 1,602.54 points, to 11,015.84. Before a late session rally, the index was trading below 11,000 points, which has not occurred since 2004.

The Shanghai Composite Index lost 6.3 percent, or 116.27 points, to close the day at 1,723.35. In the past year, the Shanghai Index, which is the most valued in mainland China, has lost nearly three quarters of its value. Other Asian markets fell sharply on fears echoed by Japan and China. Singapore’s Straits Times Index, which fell 8.3 percent on Friday, was not open today for a holiday.

Indian shares on the Sensex index in Mumbai fell ten percent, below the crucial 8,000-point level earlier in the day before rallying to a more modest two-percent decline. Australia’s stock losses were also marginally lower, still pushing the All Ordinaries in Sydney to their lowest levels since autumn 2004, at 3,768.

Gastric bypass surgery performed by remote control

Sunday, August 21, 2005

A robotic system at Stanford Medical Center was used to perform a laparoscopic gastric bypass surgery successfully with a theoretically similar rate of complications to that seen in standard operations. However, as there were only 10 people in the experimental group (and another 10 in the control group), this is not a statistically significant sample.

If this surgical procedure is as successful in large-scale studies, it may lead the way for the use of robotic surgery in even more delicate procedures, such as heart surgery. Note that this is not a fully automated system, as a human doctor controls the operation via remote control. Laparoscopic gastric bypass surgery is a treatment for obesity.

There were concerns that doctors, in the future, might only be trained in the remote control procedure. Ronald G. Latimer, M.D., of Santa Barbara, CA, warned “The fact that surgeons may have to open the patient or might actually need to revert to standard laparoscopic techniques demands that this basic training be a requirement before a robot is purchased. Robots do malfunction, so a backup system is imperative. We should not be seduced to buy this instrument to train surgeons if they are not able to do the primary operations themselves.”

There are precedents for just such a problem occurring. A previous “new technology”, the electrocardiogram (ECG), has lead to a lack of basic education on the older technology, the stethoscope. As a result, many heart conditions now go undiagnosed, especially in children and others who rarely undergo an ECG procedure.

Expired Listing Letter: An Important Marketing Tool For Real Estate Investors

By Simon Volkov

Expired listing letter refers to a marketing tool used by realtors and real estate investors. When realtors list real estate for sale they enter into a contract with the seller. These contracts are generally in place for six months to one year. If the property is not sold when the contract expires, sellers can enter into a new contract, locate a new realtor, list the home as for sale by owner, or take the property off the market.

The expired listing letter is used by realtors and investors who are interested in listing or buying properties. Expired real estate listings are located by searching the Multiple Listings Service (MLS) database. Every property across the nation that is listed for sale through a real estate agent is presented through the MLS database.

Investors utilize expired listing letters to contact sellers directly or to negotiate the sale of a property through a realtor. When investors work with realtors they earn a profit by closing the sale. When investors work directly with sellers they can eliminate realtor commissions by waiting until the listing expires.

Investors who have not dabbled in buying expired listing properties should take time to become educated about the process. This investment niche requires investors to develop a strong marketing strategy and have the ability to close sales when real estate agents have been unable to do so.

The first step of expired listings marketing involves creating the initial contact letter. A variety of expired listing letter samples are available via the Internet. Investors must adapt their letter to accommodate the circumstances of each seller. A good way to learn how to write compelling marketing letters is to participate in online real estate investing forums or join local real estate clubs.

The second step of expired listings marketing involves creating follow-up materials. These can range from direct mail campaigns to postcard marketing, and word-of-mouth referrals to cold calling. Within marketing circles, it is believed a customer must be contacted seven times before they are receptive to buying a product or service. Therefore, investors should develop a minimum 7-step marketing plan which keeps their name at the forefront of the seller’s mind.

Once real estate listings expire, sellers are often bombarded with expired listing letters. In order to stand out from the crowd, investors must create marketing messages which pique the seller’s curiosity and make them feel the investor can be trusted and will follow through on promises made.

It can be beneficial for real estate investors to hire a marketing company or copywriter to develop expired listing marketing materials. The primary focus of letters, brochures, and post cards should be to build a relationship with sellers who need to sell their home quickly.

Investors who are capable of solving problems will earn sellers business. When developing expired listings marketing materials it is crucial to focus on needs of the seller, not the accomplishments of the business being promoted.

Entering into the niche of expired listings real estate is highly competitive. In order to be successful, investors must be committed to their clients; develop a solid marketing plan; have a strong network of real estate professionals; possess the ability to locate motivated sellers and buyers; and know how to quickly close real estate transactions.

The expired listing letter is the catalyst to developing relationships and earning business. By taking time to carefully craft marketing materials, investors can attract sellers who need their services. By following through on promises made, investors can expand their business and generate profit on each transaction they successfully close.

Suspected serial killer appears in British court

Friday, May 28, 2010

A man accused of being a serial killer has appeared in Bradford magistrates court in West Yorkshire today charged with three counts of murder. 40-year-old Stephen Griffiths is accused of killing Suzanne Blamires, 36, Susan Rushworth, 43, and Shelley Armitage, 31, all prostitutes.

Griffiths, a former van driver with a degree in psychology and studying for a PhD in criminology, gave his name as “Crossbow Cannibal” when asked. He has been in police custody since Monday when police were alerted to a CCTV recording that appeared to show a murder.

A caretaker had been reviewing footage from the flats where Griffiths lives when he saw footage of a woman and a man enter a flat early on Saturday morning. Two minutes later, she ran out and was followed by the man, who beat her to the ground and shot her in the head with a crossbow. Over the course of the weekend, the man was seen several times with bin bags and a rucksack.

On Tuesday, the day after the arrest of Griffiths, Blamires’ remains were found in the River Aire in nearby Shipley. She had been cut into several pieces and her head was located in a rucksack. Police continue to search for the other two alleged victims; Rushworth has been missing since June last year and Armitage vanished in April.

Police have searched much of Bradford’s red-light district, where Griffiths’ third-floor flat is located. Forensic investigations at the flat are expected to last around three weeks. There are plans to search landfill sites for bodies, and police may yet expand the inquiry to cover three more cold cases, although at present they have not been linked to the current inquiry.

Sniffer dogs have been used throughout the city, and police have been taking away plastic evidence bags. Some alleyways remain closed off. Police charged their suspect yesterday.

Griffiths was known as “the lizard man” in his block of flats owing to his habit of walking his two pet monitor lizards in the area. One neighbour is reported to have quoted him as saying he was studying for “a PhD in murder and Jack the Ripper,” and he has spent time in a high-security psychiatric hospital. During his five-minute court appearance he did not enter a plea, kept his head bowed and fidgeted with his cuffed hands. He said “Here, I guess,” when asked for his address.

As he stood in the glass-fronted dock, guarded by three security officers, he was watched by the families of Rushworth and Armitage, who were accompanied by police family liaison officers. Blamires’ family chose not to be present, but the victim’s mother Nicky Blamires, 54, has told the press that Suzanne was a “much-loved” family member even though she “went down the wrong path and did not have the life she was meant to have.” “Nobody deserves this,” she said. “All these girls were human beings and people’s daughters.”

Griffiths’ morning court appearance was followed by a second one this afternoon, at Bradford Crown Court. This time, he confirmed his name without incident. He was remanded into custody until next month, when he will appear in court again.

British media has been quick to compare the case to Peter Sutcliffe, dubbed the “Yorkshire Ripper”. Sutcliffe was a Bradford killer responsible for thirteen murders and seven attempted murders, including several prostitutes. Since his 1981 conviction he has spent most of the last three decades in Broadmoor high-security psychiatric hospital near London.
